Anonymous threat prompts evacuation of Warrensville Heights High after-school activities

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio - An anonymous bomb threat prompted an evacuation Thursday afternoon of after-school activities at Warrensville Heights High School, officials said.

The Warrensville Heights Police Department is investigating the threat, the city's school district said in a statement posted on its website and Facebook.

The threat came in via email after 2 p.m., and students were evacuated before the school's regular 3 p.m. dismissal time, school district communications director Alexia Harris said.

All students are safe but police are conducting a precautionary search of the building, Harris said.

The Warrensville Heights Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for more information.

The district will provide updates on its website and on Facebook as they are available, officials said.
