Theft at Louisville Kohl's becomes robbery after threat to employee

The Louisville Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a man who they say threatened a loss prevention officer at the Kohl's department store last week.

A news release said that a man was stealing from the store, at 919 West Dillon Road, on Feb. 8 and when a loss prevention officer confronted him, the man threatened to pepper spray the officer, according to a news release.

The man left the store and fled in a white van driven by an unidentified woman. Because the man threatened the loss prevention officer, police are classifying the incident as a robbery.

Cmdr. Jeff Fisher said that the man is believed to be white or Hispanic, standing between five feet nine inches tall and six feet tall and weighing between 165 and 185 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Hudson Chitwood, 303-335-4688.
