Alexandre Barrette and Jean-Philippe Dion will be piloting the new reality show "Sortez-moi d'ici!", an adaptation of the British format "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here" next winter on TVA.

A dozen personalities known to the general public and from different backgrounds will find themselves in the middle of the jungle where they will have to show courage and push their limits to pass through multiple challenges and trials.

And as if the competitions weren't going to be demanding enough, physically and mentally, the participants will rub shoulders with wildlife, that is to say – we dread it – snakes, alligators, lions and a host of insects. ..

We will add a layer by having them sleep in the open air in a camp and providing them with only a bowl of rice and legumes to satisfy them. In short, the best will move on to the next stage and the others will return home in turn.

The reality show 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here' has run 21 seasons in the UK. Among the ingredients, in addition to the suspense and stress that travels into the viewers' living room, there is empathy, humor and solidarity between the competitors.

The Quebec adaptation is produced by TVA, Quebecor Content and Productions Déferlantes. The three partners did not want to reveal the names of the participants, who do not know the identity of each other. As we want them to be disoriented and surprised, the production hides several other elements from them. It is therefore not known in which country or even on which continent the episodes will be shot. No longer when the filming will take place, but it will certainly be this summer, between the two radio seasons of Alexandre Barrette and before the start of the recordings of “The real nature” in September.

The big winner will win a large sum of money, which will go to the foundation or cause of their choice.

A complementary duo

Initially, Jean-Philippe Dion was coming out of the hectic season of “Star Académie” – thanks to the COVID! – that he produces and had not thought of hosting this reality show. He was from the production meeting to offer the job to Alexandre Barrette. We then intended to ask the latter with whom he wished to share the controls.

“We had wanted to work with Alexandre Barrette for a long time. And when the team saw that I reacted to the images of other productions in the world, I shouted at every case and I said "well see!", that's what they liked. They told me: "you have to animate because that's what we want, that you react like that during the show", confided Jean-Philippe Dion, saying that he would not have – never! – does this show as a contestant, but is happy to “put himself in danger” in a format that takes him somewhere else as a host.

"It's like 'True Nature' on steroids. It's super human, but there is also self-transcendence, people want to push their limits and live this experience like others will decide to climb the Himalayas, "he said. for follow-up.

Like Jean-Philippe Dion, Alexandre Barrette would not have agreed to submit to the tests. "I'm way too 'chicken' for that!" he said, adding that he “loves the wide range of participants. I can't wait to see what all of these people will do together."

Alexandre Barrette wants to be funny and empathetic at the same time, saying that he and Jean-Philippe Dion will complement each other. "I feel that as an animator I can make people laugh, touch, show my repartee, be there for the competitors, support them, there is something that turns me on in all of this."

“We are going to create a family, they will play together, not against each other, it is the strength of the group. It's a reality show that's going to be extremely family-friendly too," said Jean-Philippe Dion, who believes that "Get me out of here!" will surprise as much as “Masked singers” last fall on TVA.
