DENVILLE -- Three men who were wanted in connection with a jewelry heist in Nassau County, New York were arrested in Denville Saturday when the owner of a jewelry store recognized the trio, police said.

Bernard Bell, 54, Josuf M. Price, 52, and India Stokes, 53, are facing charges of conspiracy to commit theft, conspiracy to commit burglary, hindering apprehension and shoplifting, Denville police said in a news release.

Township police were alerted to the trio by Tony Markar, the owner of Tony's Jewelers on Saturday, after he told a police dispatcher he recognized the men's faces from an alert warning on the Jewelers of America Association website about a jewelry store robbery in New York, Northjersey.com reported.

The trio lingered in the shop, but eventually left and were pulled over after officers confirmed the men matched the description of the security alert from New York, police said.

The three men were remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility.
