Player of the week

Leslie Velten, Lee: junior, center/forward — Recorded 20 points, 13 rebounds and six assists to lead the Volunteers to a 58-55 victory over Madison. Lee swept the season series against the Mavericks.

Game balls

 Brandeis’ Gabby Connally scored 31 points on 11-of-17 shooting to lead the Broncos to a 68-42 win over Jay. It was her seventh 30-plus-point game.

Wagner’s Angel Hastings had 28 points, seven steals and six rebounds in the Thunderbirds’ 55-48 victory over New Braunfels.

Megan Valdez-Crader of Johnson posted 25 points and nine steals in the Jaguars’ 90-47 victory over Reagan. The win secured the Jaguars’ third straight outright District 26-6A title.
