New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51: Kickoff time, TV channel, scoreboard, point spread

The New England Patriots have reached the Super Bowl for a record ninth time and will try to win a record fifth Super Bowl. The Atlanta Falcons will try to win their first-ever Super Bowl title when the two teams face in Super Bowl LI on Sunday, Feb. 5 (3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. ET, FOX).

Quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots have made a near-habit of appearing in the Super Bowl. They have reached the Super Bowl seven times with Brady as quarterback  under coach Bill Belichick. The Patriots  have won four Super Bowls with the Brady/Belichick combination.

The Patriots played one of their best games of the season in their 36-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game. Quarterback Tom Brady, who has owned the Steelers during his career, threw three touchdown passes as wide receivers Chris Hogan and Julian Edelman ran rampant throughout the game.

The Falcons are playing in the Super Bowl for the second time in franchise history and they come in with the best offense in the league. They ran roughshod over the Green Bay Packers with a 44-21 win in the NFC Championship game, scoring on their four of their first five possessions of the game and rolling to a 24-0 lead at halftime. The Falcons then put the game away with three touchdowns on their first three possessions in the second half.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was a coldly efficient as he has been all season, throwing for 392 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Julio Jones caught nine passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns and the Falcons defense held red-hot Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in check.
