Havana: USA rejects Cuban diplomats

The US government draws consequences from the alleged acoustic attacks on US employees in Havana. It is unclear whether a novel sonic weapon was used.

Havana: USA rejects Cuban diplomats

In response to mysterious attacks on US citizens in Cuba, government in Washington expelled Cuban diplomats. The Cuban government had been sent a list of 15 people who were now classified as undesirable persons, it was said from US State Department. You would have seven days to leave country.

The background is an attack that has been injured since last year in Cuba according to latest figures 22 Americans. It is unclear who or what was responsible for attacks that caused some victims to have concussions and permanent loss of hearing. Some suffered from dizziness, headaches and cognitive problems, it was recently said in a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among or things, it was speculated that US diplomats and ir relatives were victims of a novel Sonic weapon.

In a first reaction, government in Washington had already ordered deduction of 60 percent of its own diplomats from Havana. The now-induced expulsion of Cubans should be achieved, both of which would have same number of diplomats in or country, said US secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

No evidence for acoustic attacks

The Cuban government has not been directly responsible for this, but US government has not been talking about incidents since last week, but of attacks. Tillerson accused Cuban government of not providing sufficient protection for Americans. According to information from news agency AP, first victims were concealed working US spies.

Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla had informed at end of September that authorities in his country had not found any evidence of "acoustic attacks". However, it cannot be ruled out that a third country or a breakaway group from Cuban military could be responsible for it.
