White House: Trump plans more restrictive immigration law

The White House has presented Congress with a list of demands on immigration policy. The catalogue includes, among or things, money for construction of a border wall to Mexico, tightening of right to asylum and creation of 10,000 additional posts by immigration authorities.

The White House also proposes a point-based immigration system, as well as restrictions on allocation of cards for spouses and minor children of US citizens. Deportations of gang members and unaccompanied minor migrants are to be simplified. Stricter deportation rules, which previously apply to unaccompanied young people from Mexico, are to be extended to minors of illegal immigrants from Central American countries.

It was unclear at first wher, in exchange for implementation of claims, DACA programme under US President Donald Trump should be preserved. The programme allowed young migrants who were illegally brought into United States as children to work and stay. In a transitional period, US Congress has six months to find a different legal basis for so-called Dreamer.

The leaders of Democrats in Senate and House of Representatives rejected demands. The proposal was a "anama" for Migration and DACA programme, it was said in a joint declaration. The government is not trying to reach a compromise. Donald Trump had previously stated that he did not expect to see a deal on future of DACA funds for construction of border wall. In NeuenForderungskatalog, however, wall is main priority.

"The Congress should reject Dieseverzerrte wish list of anti-immigrant claims," demanded Democratic MEP Joaquin Castro, chairman of Congressional Hispanic Caucus, representing Hispanics imcongress. "The White House wants to use dreamer as a fist deposit to reach government's goals for deportation and detention."

The Democrats had already announced an agreement with Trump at beginning of September, which would allow immigrants to remain in US. Donald Trump contradicted presentation: re was no deal.
