Company sales soar 31.1% in August and add 18 months of increases

The turnover of companies increased by 31.1% in August compared to the same month of 2021, expanding the rise registered the previous month by 7.3 points, according to the Business Turnover Index (ICNE) published this Tuesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

With this rebound, the largest since last May, the sales of companies have chained 18 consecutive months of year-on-year increases after having spent a year in negative due to the impact of Covid.

Adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, company turnover increased by 30.1% in August, a rate 2.8 points higher than that of July.

In monthly values ​​and within the corrected series, business invoicing registered an increase of 3.2% in August, its highest monthly rise since last April, when it rebounded by more than 5%.
