The CEO of the Helvetia Group announces his resignation in mid-2023

MADRID, 25 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The CEO of the Helvetia Group, Philipp Gmür, will leave his position in mid-2023, as reported on Tuesday by the company, which has already started the succession process.

This early announcement is intended to guarantee continuous renewal and a successive generational change at the top of the company after the departure of Gmür, who has worked at the company since 1993 and has been CEO of the group since 2016.

"After thirty years in the Helvetia Group, thirteen of them as CEO of the Swiss national market and seven as CEO of the Group, the time has come to start a new stage. It has been an honor and a pleasure for me to have contributed to the development of the Grupo Helvetia in collaboration with a great team. However, I am happy to pass on the baton and take on other tasks outside the Helvetia Group", highlighted the chairman of the group's management committee and CEO of the Helvetia Group.

A lawyer by training, Gmür joined Helvetia in 1993 and, after performing various functions, in 2016 he assumed the presidency of the group's management committee.

"Philipp Gmür will leave his permanent mark on the Helvetia Group. During his long career as CEO in Switzerland, Helvetia has become a leading multi-sector insurer in the national market. As CEO of the group, he has driven with clear objectives the internationalization of the group, the expansion of other lines of insurance and the introduction of new business models. We would like to sincerely thank Philipp Gmür for the years of unwavering commitment he has dedicated to the Helvetia Group," said Thomas Schmuckli, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
