According to the daily "Charlotte Observer", 10 athletes from the expansion team did not make the trip to Quebec. However, it is not specified whether these players contracted the coronavirus or whether they were unable to cross the border due to the vaccine.

Additionally, Charlotte reportedly tried to have the match postponed, but Major League Soccer reportedly denied their request.
