Toyota will manufacture the second generation of the C-HR in Turkey with an investment of 317 million

MADRID, 30 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Toyota will invest 317 million euros in its factory in Sakarya (Turkey) the second generation of its C-HR model, which will have plug-in hybrid versions, according to the company, which indicated that this center will be the first of the company in Europe in assemble plug-in hybrid models and will also have a battery manufacturing line.

The firm explained that this economic injection of 317 million euros for the C-HR project will be added to those historically carried out in the center, which accumulates a total of 2,300 million euros.

With this amount, the Toyota factory in Turkey will improve and reinforce its production line, while adapting to the technical and logistical needs for the manufacture of said model and its hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.

The firm pointed out that the range of the new C-HR will be made up of both hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, in line with its commitment to reduce emissions. The company plans to reduce 100% of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in a part of Europe by 2035.

The company explained that the award of the production of the new C-HR to the Sakarya center represents a strategic "milestone" for the company in Europe, since it will also have the capacity to manufacture 75,000 batteries for 'plugin' models. The productive activity of these components will begin in December of this year and will allow the creation of 60 new jobs.

"The creation of a production line in Sakarya is a strategic milestone for Toyota's transformation towards electrification and will support other Toyota plants in Europe in the future with trained labor and knowledge," the multinational stressed.
