In the world of video games, 1994 is light years away from today. It was that year that Theme Park, the first simulation title of its kind, was released. Visually similar to Sim City, Theme Park is firmly focused on running... profitably, of course, an amusement park. So you have to hire employees and keep them happy, make sure you develop an interesting offer of rides, stock up your drinks stocks and constantly ensure the happiness of visitors, otherwise you will be entitled to a revolution.

Still in the same vein, but much more recent – it dates from 2018 – here is Parkitect. As the name suggests, you become an architect and manager of an amusement park. In addition to the roller coasters, you also have to manage all the concessions, the staff, make sure your visitors are thrilled... all while modifying the land on which your park is built as you wish. And, another positive point, you can play in cooperative mode at eight.

For fans of adrenaline and immersion, Thrillville: Off the Rails doesn't just let you create crazy rides. You can – and this is the specificity of this title – walk around your park, ride your rides and interact with visitors by talking to them. In short, it's fun and it hasn't aged... even if the game dates from 2007.

On the phone side, Idle Theme Park Tycoon offers to grow an amusement park by adding new rides. There is even a haunted house and the whole thing immerses players in a universe of extremely bright colors and round characters.

Spotlight on rides

In 1999, RollerCoaster Tycoon became the best-selling PC game of the year. A descendant of Theme Park, it combines simulation and unbridled fun, the third iteration giving players the freedom to build their park without any constraints on passing challenges. Of course, you can also forget the basic rules and have fun killing visitors by throwing fireworks at them!

Billing itself as the ultimate ride game, NoLimits 2 offers an impressive array of features. There are thus four cameras that allow you to admire the rides, to immerse yourself completely in the routes in order to rediscover the sensations of reality. In addition, it is possible to create custom rides according to very precise specifications.

At Planet Coaster, three game modes are offered: “sandbox”, “career” and “challenges”. The title stands out for the quantity of expansions offered – including a “Ghostbuster” – the impressive number of rides and the possibility of organizing a fireworks show.

Finally, before going to build the park of your dreams - with or without dinosaurs - know that you can spend all the time you want in the world of Disneyland Adventures. In addition to discovering Disneyland without the costs associated with a family trip and without queues, there are an impressive number of quests to complete, rides to ride, and it is even possible to play with others. Have a good trip!
