Under permanent bombardment

Because ago residents complain, the district recommends whether the conditions of the plant are filled in the Perlacher forest ü.

Under permanent bombardment

If you are comfortable on a beautiful day on terrace in Unterhaching, you have to expect a certain level of noise. In west Giesinger Highway, in east A 8. And n re are sounds that sound from shooting range from Perlacher forest, and in particular inhabitants of Waldnahen districts increasingly get on nerves. Sometimes some shots are heard, n whole volleys are fired again. The shooting facility has been around for 60 years. "But it has definitely gotten louder since old wood wall was demolished on 2013 motorway," says Catia Hilgart, who lives in Hunter's road directly at forest and finds: "That sounds on some days as if you are in midst of a war zone."

700 signatures has collected Hilgart for better noise protection. It is committed to a new wall on motorway, but also calls on authorities to modernise firing system and, if necessary, to reduce noise level for surrounding area through a rebuilding. The country's adviser has now responded to complaints of local residents and carried out on Thursday first measurements on Hunter's road and in residential area near restaurant Walder lust. In nearby Munich city area, at Pennstraße, it will soon also be determined with how much decibels shot noises arrive re.

The shooting facility is operated by federal government and has been used by Munich police since nineties. Speaker Sven Müller, system is also very important for training, since it is only one in area of police Presidium, on which special units could also practice with long weapons. Hilgart doesn't even want to change that. "I find it important that police can train," she stresses. And y also understand that, given threat of terrorism today, plant will be used even more than before.

The police headquarters in Munich, however, denies that this is case. "Nothing has changed," says Speaker Müller. The Bavarian police have also been using same weapons for many years. So it cannot be that local residents feel that noise has increased. Müller also resolves problem due to lack of a noise barrier on Giesinger highway.

More harassment than road noise

CATIA Hilgart remains: "You are now more harassed by shooting noises than by street noise", she finds. The toddler in neighbourhood could no longer sleep at noon, and dog owners complained that ir animals were frightened by forest walk, when loud shots echoed through Perlacher forest again. "The or day I was on Perlacher Mugl Road, that sounded like I was shooting right next to me," says Hilgart.

The fact that authorities have now set up ir measuring instruments so quickly is pleased, although y are still sceptical about measurement sites. "The microphone was built much furr north in Hunter's road, re it is not as noisy as with us," she says. Also, this is always a question of wind that did not come from west on Wednesday.

According to country's recommendations, measurement is carried out according to specifications of technical Instructions for Protection against noise (ta noise) of Federal Pollution Control Act and guideline of Association of German Engineers (VDI) for assessment of shooting noise immissions. The procedure is regulated in detail in this. In particular, all types of use of plant, i.e. all shooting disciplines, would be recorded with maximum permissible shot numbers. If measurement shows that permissible immissions guidelines are exceeded, remedies should be taken in principle.

In Federal Immission Protection Act, 50 decibels are recorded for pure residential areas during day. The idea of how noise protection might look exactly is not to be said. "To this end, concrete results of measurement have to be waited", says authority. The police suspect that noise barriers are in question. Müller cannot imagine a relocation of firing range due to size of plant.
