Turkey is accusing another eight people of participating in the assassination of Russia's ambassador at the end of 2016. According to them, a report also includes Fethullah Gülen.

Assassination of Andrei Karlow: Turkey makes arrest warrant against preacher Gülen

Almost one and a half years after assassination of Russian ambassador Andrej Karlow in Ankara, a Turkish court has issued arrest warrants against eight or suspects. As official Turkish news agency Anadolu reports, people of intentional murder of Karlow and attempted overthrow of Turkish constitution are suspected. According to Anadolu, re were already nine arrests in connection with murder.

According to report, Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen is also among most wanted. Investigators had discovered links between murderer of ambassador, 22-year-old Turkish policeman Mevlüt, and Altıntaş, and Gülen. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is responsible for Gülen movement both for attack and for attempted military coup of July 2016. The 76-year-old preacher has lived in American exile for almost 20 years.

In addition, according to Anadolu, a warrant was imprisoned against Şerif Ali Tekalan, who led a university associated with Gülen movement in Istanbul. Tekalan is now a university in U.S. state of Texas. It was not clear at first wher some of wanted are currently in Turkey.

The policeman Altıntaş had shot Karlow on December 19, 2016, at opening of an exhibition in Ankara. He said he had acted out of revenge for Russian action in Syrian war. The assassin was shot by police a little later. The Turkish Government had already, for first time, looked through a few days after act, y suspect Gülen movement behind attack.

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to talk to Erdoğan in Turkey.
