CDU and CSU: & #34;D IE Union was never just a chancellor's election Association & #34;

Two weeks after Bundestag election, leaders of CDU and CSU are looking for a common basis for coalition negotiations with Greens and FDP on Sunday. The main aim of discussion is to resolve dispute concerning a ceiling for refugees.

CSU chief Horst Seehofer wants to bring Union to a more conservative course with a ten-point plan. "Those who continue to call it" do not understand and risk majority ability of CDU and CSU. The union was never just a chancellor's electoral association ", says a paper that chairman of CSU Principle Commission, Markus Blume, has written to top meeting. "If union wants to continue to be clocks for entire bourgeois camp, it must fill its ancestral center-right."

In paper, AfD is declared opponent of Union in particular. "The radicalized AfD is not an alternative for Germany, but only an alternative to NPD." The Union should "never" agree with fact that such a party is "spreading" to right. "We have to fight AfD brutally – and fight for ir voters." The people of Germany wanted a bourgeois-conservative policy that was clear since Bundestag election. The pivot to liberal political centre under Merkel was a mistake that had to be corrected in conservative wing.

Patriotism and homeland Love

The CSU, according to paper, mainly relies on definition of an upper limit for refugees and concept of a guiding culture. In addition, a "healthy patriotism and homeland love" would have to be taken for granted again. The "Spirit of old-1968" must also be overcome, says ten-point plan.

The union had become strongest force in election on 24 September, but had suffered huge losses. With 32.9 percent of votes, Angela Merkel reached her worst result. After SPD rejected a new edition of Grand coalition, only realistic perspective is an alliance of union, FDP and greens. This, however, is particularly difficult for CSU, who fears being forced to abandon conservative positions in a coalition with Greens.

At federal meeting of Young Union in Dresden, Merkel had officially announced talks about a Jamaica coalition for first time – despite still pending agreement with CSU in dispute over a ceiling. There will be difficult negotiations with FDP and Greens, but it is about making a reliable government, she said. "I want her to come about." A coalition agreement is to be decided by a CDU Congress.
