ENF Congress: Europe's right-wing populists call for end of EU

The Dutch law populist Geert Wilders has called for an end to European Union in its current form. The EU is "an existential threat to our nation states," said Wilders at Congress of EU Parliamentary group Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENF) in Czech Prague.

The French legal politician Marine Le Pen from Front National also participated in Congress. She welcomed government involvement of right-wing populist FPOe in Austria as a "very good news for Europe". Wilders pointed out that FPOe was taken seriously as a member of ENF group.

Wilders also spoke out against immigration. "I hope that Czechs will keep ir doors firmly closed before mass immigration," he said. Last week EU Commission sued Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland before European Court of Justice because countries refused to implement EU quota system for redistributing refugees.

Alexander Häusler, expert at right-extremist at Hochschule in Düsseldorf, said in Germany funk, that ENF meeting serves reclassification of right-wing parties in order to establish anew group for European elections in year 2019. The alliance is a pure Purpose alliance.

The police took high security measures before meeting. Leftist groups had called for counter-demonstrations and a blockade of venue. From Germany, EU MEP Marcus Pretzell belongs to ENF group. After leaving party Alternative for Germany (AfD), Pretzell is a member of AfD-offshoot of Blue Party.
