Migration: California will protect immigrants more effectively

In California, respectable immigrants who once entered US without permission will be given more rights. Governor Jerry Brown signed a law that makes most populous U.S. state from January 1, 2018 to a so-called "sanctuary state." This means that police are no longer allowed to ask people about ir residence permit and can only pass m on to immigration authority under certain conditions.

Several cities in United States have already declared mselves to be such sanctuary cities. The Democratic ruled California, where it is estimated that 2.3 million illegal immigrants are living, is now raising concept to state level. This is to counteract possible deportations by federal government of President Donald Trump. After his announced exit from Paris climate protection agreement, California had already announced that he would still want to abide by agreement.

According to new law, police and prisons in California may only transfer someone to federal authorities if that person has been legally convicted of a list of some 800 crimes. If you are guilty of smaller mispassions, this is no longer possible.
