The L'Aljub Shopping Center, owned by the global real estate investment manager, DWS, on behalf of one of its real estate funds, and managed by CBRE, has renewed the BREEAM® certificate after passing a rigorous evaluation process for its sustainability. It has achieved this with the "Excellent" classification in the section that evaluates the building and "Exceptional" in the policies and procedures that are applied in the management of the property. This seal certifies the sustainability of the buildings and highlights the use of renewable energies, the environmental management policy and the monitoring of consumption. The certification is part of L'Aljub's commitment to lead positive changes that commits it to make small big steps towards a better and more sustainable world. At this time, 100% of the electricity consumed by L'Aljub comes from renewable energies and the CO2 footprint of the shopping center corresponding to the consumption of electrical energy is nil. This is due in part to the recent installation, on the roof of the building, of a photovoltaic plant with 1,000 450w solar panels, which provide more than 25% of the center's electricity consumption. In addition, more than 99% of the lighting is LEDs and optimize ignition times using the latest technology. The BREEAM® certificate is a recognition that values ​​the management of the building and its activities committed to the environment. It is a distinction that goes far beyond energy efficiency and covers aspects such as water consumption, waste management, the emission of pollutants, or the health and well-being of the users of this building with more than 120 premises and 150,000 square meters built squares.
