If one believes Hungarian media, country is facing an extensive refugee crisis. Posters are hanging everywhere, showing a vast amount of refugees moving to Hungarian border. There is also a large sign labeled "Stop" and word "Government information".

With such campaigns, Fidesz party of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wants to win parliamentary election. And according to polls, it will come. It is only open wher it "only" receives an absolute majority or a two-thirds majority, as it did four years ago.

Inflammatory election advertising is also available in public service TV channel M1: The United Nations is being attacked re because y have recently criticised Hungarian government for ignoring human rights. On Thursday, UN Human Rights Committee reminded repeatedly that Hungary must withdraw a law that dramatically curtails rights of asylum.

Last year, Hungarian government established two so-called transit zones on border with Serbia. Only re can refugees in Hungary still apply for asylum. In opinion of UN Human Rights Committee, se transit zones are similar to prisons, because refugees are not allowed to leave m for months. From re, only a few people are allowed to enter Hungary every day. Last year re were only 1,291 people who received asylum in Hungary or a similar form of protection from state.

    Fear of The Stranger

Hungary's foreign minister, Péter Szijjártó, justifies this policy. He said before UN Human Rights Committee that it was good right of Hungarians to "live in safety and without fear that terrorist atrocities would be committed." Government-related media, which belong to government advisers (such as tabloid local) or oligarchs (such as Daily Magyar Idők), support this statement in se days with headlines such as "If you have no limit, you also have no country" or "immigration: Europe imports violence ".

The Hungarian election campaign was determined by a single issue: Migrants who are supposedly threatening security of Hungarian citizens. There are hardly any incidents that could support such a sis. And so it is that hearing of an Afghan migrant in court becomes second most important message at M1, rest of broadcast fills accusations against George Soros, who sponsors human rights organizations. According to interpretation of Hungarian government, se organisations promote illegal immigration.
