After about 15 minutes Jens Spahn finally comes to elephant in room. He wants to talk about what one cannot speak of anywhere, "except here, at young Union." Spahn means topics of migration, integration and refugees. "Does anyone seriously believe in hall that we have lost twelve percent of AfD in Baden-Württemberg – because of nursing policy?" Calls Spahn. The delegates rejoice – me of weekend is set.

The Young Union (JU) has invited to Dresden for its annual German Congress, a kind of federal party convention. Not far from Semper opera, more than a thousand delegates and guests of youth organization of CDU and CSU want to talk about Bundestag election. And why union could lose eight percentage points.

The Chancellor is also invited. Angela Merkel has to justify herself in Dresden before party people, first time since election two weeks ago. And this is especially case for critical, mostly conservative offspring. "Full Muttiviert" was on night of evening on posters of Ju. There is no more to be seen in audience this weekend.

Quota solution instead of upper limit

In addition to Merkel, or party sizes such as Thomas de Maizière and Alexander Dobrindt are loaded. But attention of many is on Teleduel Merkel against Jens Spahn. He is secretary of State in Ministry of Finance, CDU Presidium member – and one of Merkel's greatest critics when it comes to migration policy. That is precisely subject that is important to young Union.

This is in "Dresdner declaration" that Ju delegates passed on Friday. Above all, demands under point of migration and integration clearly show right. In consultation with paper, every attempt was refused to weaken formulations. Often also at urging of Bavarian delegation.

The State Association of Bavaria, CSU in young Union, so to speak, often gives tone. The result: A quota solution for humanitarian reception of refugees and a limitation of traditional immigration. Upper limit is not in paper. The result is as good as same.

Jens Spahn is one of young faces, of which Ju chairman Paul Ziemiak in his inaugural speech wants more in party and government. The fact that not only Chairman sees this is a roaring applause that Spahn gets. According to programme, 38-year-old should only keep a greeting, his previous speaker remains under ten-minute mark. Spahns appearance will n become a 40-minute keynote speech on reasons and causes of electoral defeat.

The defeat hangs closely toger with elephant in room, according to Spahn. That is why he speaks almost entire second part of his speech about him. Anyone who likes can read almost every line as an attack on Merkel. In any case, you cannot go on to agenda after lost election, says Spahn. It wants to reposition Union, especially in migration and immigration policy. In order to create acceptance of population for immigration, one must regain control at borders.
