A 32-year-old man was arrested today in connection with the fatal hit-and-run two weeks ago in Brossard where a nursing assistant was grabbed and left for dead on the ground.

Around 3:00 p.m., investigators from the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department (SPAL) arrested the resident of Greenfield Park, whose identity we will not reveal since he is not yet the subject of formal charges. .
He was questioned until the evening and should be brought to the Longueuil courthouse tomorrow.
If the case is retained by the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP), the 30-year-old should face charges of fatal hit-and-run and dangerous driving.
He has no criminal record.
The drama dates back to June 24, when Clarissa St-Armand Dell crossed the intersection of Rome Boulevard and Lautrec Street in the early morning in Brossard.
At the same time, a driver hit her head-on and continued on her way without even deigning to stop.
Several witnesses
The young auxiliary nurse was thrown several meters, to the point where her shoes and her handbag were found far from her body.
Despite the time the tragedy happened, at least eight people witnessed the scene.
The help thus arrived fairly quickly on the spot, but there was already nothing more to be done to save Clarissa St-Armand Dell.
Shortly after his death, a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was seized as part of the investigation.
After expertise, the police established that it was indeed the vehicle involved in the fatal hit and run.
They then gathered enough evidence to arrest the owner of the vehicle.
Psychological support
The fatal accident caused a real commotion at Charles-LeMoyne Hospital, located in Greenfield Park, where Clarissa St-Armand Dell worked.
Psychological support was offered to employees who felt the need for it.
A crowdfunding campaign was launched the day after the tragedy by a friend of the family.
“She was a radiant, inspiring, gentle and generous young woman,” writes Annick Gemme, the instigator of the movement.
So far, nearly $24,000 has been raised to ease the financial burden on the victim's loved ones.
