Iberdrola shoots its profits to 3,104 million in September, despite Spain, and points to a record profit

Iberdrola obtained a net profit of 3,104 million euros in the first nine months of the year, which represents an increase of 29% compared to the same period of the previous year, despite the 14% drop in the results of Spain, reported the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

With these earnings as of September, the group chaired by Ignacio Sánchez Galán reaffirmed its objectives for 2022 of reaching a record net profit of between 4,000 and 4,200 million for the year as a whole.

The gross operating result (Ebitda) of the energy company until September grew by 16.7%, to 9,529 million euros, with a positive evolution in all geographies except again Spain, which, due to an adverse environment, lost 9 .8%.

The organic gross investments in the period of the group stood at 7,568 million euros in the first nine months of the year, with an increase of 14.2%, with 40% in Networks and 49% in Renewable generation.

Regarding the adjusted net financial debt, it stood at 44,293 million euros at the end of September, with an increase of 19%, 7,075 million euros more compared to September 2021, due to that investment effort of the company in the period, the appreciation of currencies and the increase in working capital.
