"At our age, two years is a lot," says the one who has just returned from a long trip to Egypt. These are possibilities that are reduced from year to year.

If she has chosen to leave now, it is a lot because she has seen the benefits of the trip among her many snowbird friends who have resumed their stays in Florida. “It got them back on track and gave them a boost of energy,” she explains. So we too, as soon as it was possible, we said to ourselves: “Go, let’s go!”»

This trip to Egypt was booked and prepared between two waves, in February 2021, when everyone believed that the pandemic was about to end. Diane then already wanted to start traveling again, she who found the fact of having to stop traveling during the pandemic very private.

“As much as for outings to the cinema and the theater, I found that it was expensive to restrict us in our travels”, continues the one that this great trip of change of scenery and discoveries has left with superb memories. “This trip was fantastic, wonderful and sublime; it made it possible to break the routine in which we were asleep, ”adds the one who however found the delays in her air schedule and the numerous stopovers by plane difficult. The next trip will certainly be made up of direct flights, even if it means paying more for plane tickets.

“It felt good to resume travels and to see that life is resuming its course elsewhere and that we are finally talking about something else, confides the one who dreamed of the famous cruise on the Nile. There are not too many traces of the pandemic there. »

She describes this first post-pandemic journey as more revealing than those she had taken before, and certainly liberating, when the whole world had been put on hold for two years.
