Drowning at the Super Aqua Club: A teenage girl fights for her life

Having left for a last slide at the Super Aqua Club, a teenager is fighting for her life after being found unconscious in Pointe-Calumet lake on Friday.

It was in the late afternoon that the teenager, aged around 14, told her friends that she wanted to take one last slide before leaving the site.

After waiting for her for some time, her two friends, a little older than her, got worried and went looking for her, without success.

It was finally the rescuers who saw the young woman in the lake, visibly unconscious.

“The rescuers quickly carried out resuscitation maneuvers,” said the inspector at the Criminal Investigations Division of the Deux-Montagnes police, Jean-Philippe Labbé.

For the moment, the police are not ruling out any tracks, even if the thesis of drowning is considered.

“Investigators are on site to shed light on the circumstances of the incident,” added the inspector.

Further details to come.
