A light aircraft had to make an emergency landing in a field on Wednesday evening in Saint-Paul-d'Abbostford, Montérégie, causing two serious injuries, including one who was in critical condition.

A light aircraft had to make an emergency landing in a field on Wednesday evening in Saint-Paul-d'Abbostford, Montérégie, causing two serious injuries, including one who was in critical condition.

The accident occurred around 6:15 p.m. near rang Papineau, said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesman Nicolas Scholtus.

The two passengers, a man in his 70s and a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and there are fears for the life of the oldest.

Firefighters have rushed to the scene and investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are to be dispatched to the scene.
