The first week of August promises to be hot, humid and unstable in Quebec, while showers and the risk of thunderstorms are expected in most parts of the province.

The heat felt at the start of the week is expected to continue across the province where temperatures will feel close to or above 30. Sunscreen will still be required, at least on Tuesday and Wednesday, due to a high and very high UV index for certain sectors.

In Montreal, Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, with a 60% chance of showers and risk of a thunderstorm. Environment Canada predicts temperatures of up to 26°C with a Humidex of 34. The situation will be similar in Quebec with showers and a risk of thunderstorms during the day, it will be a maximum of 23°C and a Humidex of 30 .

On Wednesday, the sun will return to Montreal and Quebec City while the mercury will post 26°C and a Humidex of 32, as well as 25°C and a Humidex of 29, respectively.

The UV index for this day was described as “very high” by the federal agency when it should reach 9 for Montreal and 8 for Quebec.
