Telefónica has led the Digital Rights Ranking (RDR) for the telecommunications sector for the third consecutive year, ahead of Vodafone, which occupies the second position.

This classification evaluates the commitment, management and transparency of 12 telecommunications companies worldwide in terms of governance, privacy and freedom of expression and the company has improved by 8% compared to the last edition, according to a statement.

In addition to Telefónica and Vodafone, among the operators present in Spain, Orange also appears on the scale, which has finished in eighth place.

The improvement of the Spanish operator has been based on a better classification in the privacy section, which it leads for the first time and adds to its top positions in governance and freedom of expression.

In the Governance section, Telefónica once again heads the ranking, with a score of 85%, being the only company that has carried out impact assessments on human rights in all areas analyzed by RDR. In this context, the ranking also highlights the company's high level of commitment to human rights through the Human Rights Policy and its monitoring by the Board's Sustainability and Quality Committee.

In the case of privacy, the authors of the report have highlighted "clear and robust policies regarding the collection and use of data" with actions such as the Transparency Center for clients. Lastly, in the Freedom of Expression section, the ranking highlights Telefónica's due diligence policy and practices on this issue in general and its public commitment to net neutrality in particular.
