Murder of Ripudaman Singh Malik: two people charged in British Columbia

Two men in their twenties are facing first degree murder charges less than two weeks after the murder of businessman Ripudaman Singh Malik in Surrey, British Columbia.

According to the Globe and Mail, Mr. Malik was shot while sitting in his Tesla-branded vehicle near his business.

The police said the two alleged murderers in this case, Tanner Fox, 21, and Jose Lopez, 23, waited several hours before finally murdering him. The victim's vehicle was found burned by authorities.

Tanner Fox and Jose Lopez face life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years, if convicted.

Recall that the victim, a 75-year-old man, had been accused with two other individuals of terrorism, after a bomb attack which claimed 329 victims, including 280 Canadians, in Tokyo, in 1985. Ripudaman Singh Malik was finally acquitted 20 years after the tragedy.
