A 21-year-old man lost his life after being seriously injured on December 24 in Bordeaux prison.

Nicous D'Andre Spring was taken to hospital on Saturday afternoon where he succumbed to his injuries.

“The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) crimes against persons investigation service is investigating the events that led to this death,” said Nicolas Scholtus, spokesperson for the SQ.

The victim detained in the prison was notably charged with assault on a peace officer, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and criminal harassment.
