Eliminated by the New York Red Bulls in the United States Cup, Charlotte FC got their revenge on Saturday at the Bank of America Stadium, winning 2-0 in a Major League Soccer regular season match (MLS).

The New York team had indeed won 3 to 1 on May 25 in the round of 16. But this time, Ben Bender and Derrick Jones secured a different outcome by hitting the target on added time in the first and second halves, respectively.

The Red Bulls are dominant away from home this season though; they show, despite this loss, a record of 5-2-1 on the road.

It was also Christian Lattanzio's first game as head coach. The one who was the deputy of Miguel Angel Ramirez has been acting since the dismissal of the latter.
