“Cosmetic procedures are becoming more accessible and more and more normalized in the population. We are going to start from the young woman who is at the end of adolescence, the beginning of adulthood, up to the lady of 85-86 years old. However, each will seek a different objective,” explains specialist doctor and graduate in aesthetics, Dr. Clode Lessard.

Whether it is to make a complex disappear, to beautify part of the face or to receive a rejuvenation treatment, there are many reasons for consultation.

It is also much easier than before to use this kind of service. It is now possible to receive a manicure and an injection in the same place, for a hundred dollars.

“Our objective is always in the natural and to advise this service well because you know, it is not everyone who can have recourse to that. There are risks too so it's really to educate through that. Not too young either,” says co-owner of Les Sublimes beauty salon, Elsa Marois.

Precisely, there are more and more young people who want to benefit from this kind of treatment.

At Dr. Lessard's clinic, there is some discomfort in treating patients under the age of 18. It is not uncommon that we have to refuse them.

“It can be for example the small telangiectasias which are small burst vessels, that, it can happen that we will do them with the agreement of the parent. For patients, on the other hand, who want to redo their lips, we here are not comfortable doing it,” she says.

“Under 18, we do not inject. It is not recommended and we will really evaluate according to whether there is a real need because there are other treatments or products that we can go for, ”also adds Ms. Marois.

Conversely, some clinics try to attract a younger clientele with enticing offers.

“Students aged 18 and under benefit from a 10% discount at all times” on treatments such as photorejuvenation, facials or treatments with specialized equipment. This is what can be found on the website of one of them as advertising.

As the competition in the middle is great, easy to get lost.

"It's sad because sometimes you see people who have really exaggerated either that they regret it or that they have anomalies that are created because of that so it's important to choose the place", says the other co-owner of Les Sublimes, Annick Aganier.

The majority of minor procedures fade after 4 months, but beware, some are permanent, as are complications.
